The House of Slaves – Dakar, Senegal 🇸🇳

We can’t talk about Maison des Esclaves without mentioning the Door Of No Return.  This was literally the last image of the homeland our ancestors saw before they were loaded on to ships and stolen from their language,  heritage,  culture,  religion, birthright, and their families. 

Today Maison des Esclaves has been converted to a museum and remains a true testament to the human suffering, devastation, and trauma that still exists today caused by the Transatlantic slave trade.
