Escape to the Cape

Escape to the Cape

This was my first time to Cape Town, South Africa but certainly not the last. If you’ve never been you must go and see it for yourself. Soon as you land the energy of being home just comes over you as you move through the airport. Once you’re on the drive into the city you can’t help but see some of the most breathtaking views of Cape Town. There is this specific curve you come to where you have a very up-close view of Table Mountain.

Our hotel was situated in a great spot 1 block away from the Waterfront. This is a great place to do some shopping, eat at one of the many restaurants or catch ferries, or even take helicopters tours.

Some of the things that you must do while in Cape Town are below:

Robben Island, this is the prison were Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years of his life as a pollical prisoner

Table Mountain, once you take the cable car up the views will leave you speechless

Cape Peninsula tour, this is where you can see the entire Cape of South Africa known as the Cape of Good Hope. On a good day you’ll see baboons on the road, and even ride past an ostrich farm

Winelands tour, some of the nice wineries include Eaglevlei, and Glencarlou to name a couple. Spend a half day out in wine country and learn about wine and cheese pairings and have the opportunity to taste some of best wine in your lifetime.

Cape Town did not disappoint, and it owes me absolutely nothing. This should definitely be high on any travelers list.
